Lumen builds cargo bikes to order in an old shipyard hall on Refshaleøen. Geometry, box and paint are decided with you — then brazed by hand and ridden 200 km through Copenhagen before handover.

Three frames. Every one of them yours.
We keep no stock. Each bike starts as a clean sheet in the workshop — these are the three starting points, and the versions people build from them.

Draw yours on paper first.
Pick a frame, a colour and the details. The drawing updates as you go — and the configuration travels with your request. The price you see is the price we honour.

03 · How a build happens
Six weeks, five conversations.
Nothing here is automated. Every step involves a person at Lumen and a decision that is yours.

The conversation
Coffee at the workshop, or a video call. We map your routes, your cargo and your cellar stairs before anything is drawn.
- 02
The fitting
Measurements, saddle height, test laps on our mule bikes. Your geometry gets drafted by hand — not pulled from a folder.
- 03
Brazing & paint
Fillet-brazed 4130 CroMo, cleaned, primered and powder-coated in the colour you chose. You're welcome to watch the torch work.
- 04
Assembly & the shakedown
Wheels built by hand, belt tensioned, brakes bedded in. Then we ride your bike 200 km through Copenhagen before you ever see it.
- 05
The handover ride
You leave with your bike, a fitted helmet and twenty minutes on how to care for it. First year of servicing is on us.

05 · The workshop
Come and sit on one.
The kettle is usually on. Lift a frame, argue about colours, take a mule bike for a lap around the harbour.
