got this text is it real?? "DHL: Your parcel is on hold due to an unpaid customs fee of 1.99 EUR. Pay within 24 hours or it will be returned to the sender: https://dhl.com-redelivery.eu/p/8KX2Q"

No, this is a scam — and the URL gives it away immediately.

The trick in the link: The actual domain in dhl.com-redelivery.eu is com-redelivery.eu. The scammer registered that domain and added "dhl.com" as a prefix so it looks official at a glance. A real DHL link would go to dhl.com, dhl.de, or dhl.com/... — nothing else.

Other red flags:

  • The tiny fee (1.99 EUR) — customs fees are rarely that small. The point isn't your 2 euros; it's getting you to enter your card number, expiry, and CVV on the fake payment page so they can steal from you later.
  • 24-hour deadline + threat of return-to-sender — classic pressure tactics to stop you from verifying anything.
  • Unsolicited text with no matching tracking number or order details.

What to do:

  1. Don't click the link, don't reply, don't pay anything.
  2. Delete it (or report it as spam/junk on your phone).
  3. If you're genuinely expecting a parcel, check its status by going to dhl.com yourself (type it in — don't use the link) or through the tracking info from your original order confirmation.
  4. Optionally report it — forwarding to 7726 (SPAM) works in many countries, and DHL has a phishing report page if you want to flag the URL.

If you already clicked and entered card details: contact your bank now and ask them to block/replace the card. Acting fast usually prevents any actual charges.

This particular scam (fake DHL customs fee texts) has been making the rounds heavily across Europe — you're far from the only one getting these.

The catch: The link starts with dhl.com, but the site is com-redelivery.eu.
