Patchbay is a three-person studio in Rotterdam dedicated to the repair and restoration of vintage synthesizers. We work on instruments that have been sitting in attics, basements, and rehearsal rooms for decades — the ones that hum when they shouldn't, lose their voice, or refuse to power on at all. Our approach is patient and detail-oriented. We trace faults through aging circuit boards, source period-correct components when possible, and treat every repair as a conversation with the person who built the instrument, and the musicians who played it before it fell silent.

We believe these machines deserve to stay in circulation rather than end up in landfill. Whether it is a Moog, a Juno, or a machine you cannot name, bring it in and we will tell you honestly what it needs.

The studio grew out of our own need for careful, local repairs. Over time, musicians, collectors, and producers across the Netherlands started bringing us gear they could not trust elsewhere. We open every case with the same approach: diagnose the fault properly, use appropriate parts, and test the result thoroughly. We do not apply quick fixes or ignore underlying issues.
