got this from my electricity company. do i need to do anything? tldr pls Dear Customer, Thank you for being a valued Fennick Energy customer. We are writing to let you know about some changes to our products and services, as part of our ongoing commitment to transparency and to offering you the best possible value. From 1 January 2027 we are simplifying our range of tariffs. Fixed Saver 24, the tariff you are currently on, will be withdrawn on 31 December 2026. Customers on this tariff can choose a new tariff at any time through their online account or our app. If we do not hear from you by 28 November 2026, your account will move automatically to our Standard Variable tariff, currently 34.1p per kWh with a standing charge of 61.2p per day. Your current unit rate is 24.6p per kWh. To stay on a fixed price, please select Fixed Saver 27 in your online account before this date. We have also updated our Terms and Conditions, effective 1 January 2027. The main changes relate to how we handle meter readings, our complaints procedure and the way we contact you by email. There is nothing else you need to do. If you have any questions, our team is always happy to help. Kind regards, Customer Care Team Fennick Energy
Yes, you probably need to act.
- Your current tariff (Fixed Saver 24) ends on 31 Dec 2026.
- If you do nothing by 28 Nov 2026, you'll be moved to their Standard Variable tariff: 34.1p/kWh vs your current 24.6p. That's about 39% more per unit, and the price can change at any time.
- To avoid that, log into your account or app and pick a new tariff (they suggest Fixed Saver 27) before 28 Nov.
Things to check before you switch:
- The letter doesn't say what Fixed Saver 27 costs. Look up its unit rate, standing charge, and any exit fees.
- It also doesn't give your current standing charge, so compare that too.
- You don't have to stay with Fennick. It's worth checking a comparison site in case another supplier is cheaper.
The T&Cs update (meter readings, complaints, email contact) is just FYI. No action needed unless you want to read the details.
Despite the "nothing else you need to do" at the end, the one thing that matters is choosing a new tariff by 28 Nov 2026.

write an email to my landlord. i moved out 7 weeks ago and still havent got my deposit back ($1,400). he isnt answering my texts. firm but not rude. im sam
Subject: Security Deposit Return – [Property Address]
Hi [Landlord's Name],
I'm following up on my security deposit of $1,400 for [property address]. I moved out on [move-out date], which was seven weeks ago, and I haven't received the deposit or an itemized list of any deductions. I've also reached out by text on [dates, if you have them] but haven't heard back.
Please return the full deposit, or send a written itemized statement of any deductions, by [date, about 7–10 days from now]. You can send payment to:
[Your current mailing address] or via [Venmo/Zelle/etc., if you're open to that]
If I don't hear from you by that date, I'll need to look into my options under [your state]'s security deposit laws, including filing in small claims court. I'd much rather resolve this directly, so I hope we can settle it quickly.
Thanks, and I look forward to hearing from you.
Best, Sam [Phone number]
A few tips:
- Check your state's deadline. Most states require landlords to return deposits within 14 to 30 days, and some impose penalties (sometimes 2–3x the deposit) for missing it. If your state's deadline has passed, you can add a line like "Under [state law], the deposit was due within [X] days of move-out." That adds a lot of weight.
- Keep records. Save this email, your texts, and any move-out photos.
- Consider certified mail. If he ignores the email, mailing a printed copy as a formal "demand letter" creates a paper trail that's useful in small claims.

got this text is it real?? "DHL: Your parcel is on hold due to an unpaid customs fee of 1.99 EUR. Pay within 24 hours or it will be returned to the sender: https://dhl.com-redelivery.eu/p/8KX2Q"
No, this is almost certainly a scam. It's a very common one called "smishing" (SMS phishing).
Red flags
1. The link is fake. This is the biggest giveaway. The real domain here is
com-redelivery.eu, not dhl.com. Scammers put "dhl.com" at the start to trick you, but what matters is what comes right before the first single slash. Real DHL links end in dhl.com, dhl.de, or similar official domains.2. Tiny fee. €1.99 seems too small to worry about, so people pay without thinking. The real goal is to steal your card details, which can then be used for much larger charges or sold.
3. Urgency. "Pay within 24 hours or it will be returned" is designed to make you act before you think.
4. Vague details. No tracking number, no sender name, no description of the package.
What to do
- Don't click the link. If you want peace of mind, go directly to the official DHL website or app and enter a tracking number from an order you actually placed.
- Delete the message and block the number.
- Report it. You can forward it to your carrier's spam number (7726 in the UK and US) or report it to DHL at their official phishing/fraud page.
If you already clicked or entered info
- Entered card details: Contact your bank right away to cancel the card and watch for unusual charges.
- Entered passwords: Change them, especially if you reuse that password elsewhere.
- Only clicked but entered nothing: You're most likely fine. Just don't enter anything and close the page.
Are you expecting a package right now? If so, I can help you figure out how to check its real status safely.

whats the twist at the end of nineteen quiet rooms by ottilie marsh? book club is tomorrow and i didnt finish it
I'm not familiar with Nineteen Quiet Rooms by Ottilie Marsh, so I can't tell you the ending. It may be a newer or smaller-press release I don't know about, or the title or author name might be slightly different. I'd rather not guess and send you into book club with a made-up twist.
Some quick ways to get the ending before tomorrow:
- Goodreads reviews: Filter for reviews marked as containing spoilers. People often lay out the ending in detail.
- Search "[title] ending explained" or "[title] spoilers." Popular book club picks often have blog or Reddit breakdowns.
- Amazon reviews: The 1–3 star ones frequently discuss the ending (especially if people disliked the twist).
- Skim the last chapter or two: Reading just the final 20–30 pages can give you the twist in under an hour.
- Ask a fellow member: Someone will probably happily spoil it for you.
If you tell me what happens in the part you did read, I can help you think through likely directions, come up with good discussion questions, or prepare things to say about the themes and characters so you can contribute confidently even without the ending.

i have 4 eggs, half a leek, stale bread, some parmesan and butter. no oven. dinner for 2 in 20 min? my gf is vegetarian
Buttery Leek & Parmesan Scramble on Fried Bread (about 15 minutes)
Quick heads-up: Traditional Parmesan is made with animal rennet, so many vegetarians avoid it. Check your label or ask her. If it's an issue, skip it and just season well. The dish still works.
Steps
Prep (3 min): Slice the half leek thinly and rinse out any grit. Cut the stale bread into thick slices. Crack the 4 eggs into a bowl with a pinch of salt and pepper and beat them. Grate the parmesan.
Fry the bread (5 min): Melt a good knob of butter in a pan over medium heat. Fry the bread slices until golden and crisp on both sides. Stale bread is perfect for this because it soaks up less butter and gets crunchier. Set aside on plates.
Soften the leek (5 min): Add another knob of butter to the same pan. Cook the leek on medium-low with a pinch of salt until soft and sweet, about 4 to 5 minutes. Don't brown it.
Scramble (2–3 min): Turn the heat to low and pour in the eggs. Stir gently and slowly, pulling them into soft curds. Take them off the heat while they still look slightly wet, since they'll finish cooking on the plate. Stir in most of the parmesan.
Serve: Pile the eggs onto the fried bread and top with the remaining parmesan and a crack of black pepper.
Optional upgrades if you have them: a little garlic rubbed on the hot fried bread, chilli flakes, a squeeze of lemon, or any fresh herbs.
Alternative: Make a stovetop frittata instead. Pour the eggs over the softened leek, cover the pan with a lid on low heat for about 6 to 8 minutes until set, and serve wedges with the fried bread on the side.

toast for my sisters wedding, under a minute. she climbs, they met at the climbing gym, hes called Elliot. no cringe
Here's one that runs about 45 seconds spoken:
Hi everyone, I'm [your name], [sister's name]'s [older/younger] sibling.
Growing up, [sister's name] was always the one climbing something she wasn't supposed to: trees, fences, the kitchen counter to get to the cookies. So it surprised nobody when she found a gym where that's the whole point.
It also surprised nobody that she'd meet someone there. What surprised me was how quickly it was obvious Elliot was the one. He's steady, he's patient, and he makes her laugh in a way I haven't heard in years.
Climbers have a word for the person holding the other end of the rope: your belay partner. It's the person you trust completely, who catches you when you fall and cheers when you reach the top.
[Sister's name], you found yours. Elliot, she found hers.
So please raise your glasses to [sister's name] and Elliot. May you always have each other's back, and may every climb be worth it.
Cheers.
Tips:
- Swap the childhood climbing line for a real memory if you have one. Specific always beats generic.
- If the "laugh" line doesn't fit, replace it with one honest thing you've noticed about them together.
- Pause briefly before "Cheers" so people have time to lift their glasses.

Cost of sharing the steak
The price is per etto (100 g), and the minimum is 1.2 kg, which is 12 etti.
Item Cost Bistecca, 1.2 kg (12 × €5.50) €66.00 Cover charge (2 × €3.00) €6.00 Subtotal €72.00 Service charge 12% €8.64 Total ≈ €80.64 Things to know:
- The minimum is only a minimum. The steak is cut and weighed, so it often comes in heavier. A 1.5 kg steak would be €82.50 for the meat alone, or about €100 in total. You can ask to see the cut or request one close to 1.2 kg.
- 1.2 kg is plenty for two. That weight includes the bone.
- The total covers only the steak. Sides, drinks and wine are extra. A contorno like the beans (€6) goes very well with it.
- It's traditionally served rare (al sangue). Many Florentine places won't cook it beyond medium-rare.

my 9 year old asked why we have summer and winter. can you draw it so she gets it?
Why We Have Summer and Winter 🌍☀️
The Big Secret: Earth is TILTED!
Earth spins around a pretend stick called an axis. That stick isn't straight up and down. It leans to one side, and it always leans the same way as Earth travels around the Sun.
JUNE DECEMBER N N / / (🌍) -----> ☀️ <----- (🌍) / SUN / S S The top half leans The top half leans TOWARD the Sun AWAY from the Sun = SUMMER ☀️ = WINTER ❄️ (for the top half) (for the top half)Notice the stick points the same direction in both pictures. But because Earth moved to the other side of the Sun, the top half goes from leaning toward the Sun to leaning away from it!
Why Does Leaning Toward the Sun Make It Hotter?
Reason 1: The sunlight is more concentrated 🔦
SUMMER WINTER (Sun high in sky) (Sun low in sky) | | | | \ \ \ \ | | | | \ \ \ \ | | | | \ \ \ \ ===[█████]=== ========[░░░░░░░░░░]=== Sunshine squished into Same sunshine spread out a SMALL spot = HOT! over a BIG area = COOLERReason 2: Longer days ⏰ In summer, the Sun is up for a long time (more time to warm things up!). In winter, it gets dark early.
🧪 Try This Together (5 minutes!)
Flashlight test:
- Shine a flashlight straight down at the table. See the small, bright circle? That's summer.
- Now tilt the flashlight so it shines at a slant. The light spreads into a big, dim oval. That's winter!
Orbit test:
- Put a lamp in the middle of a dark room (that's the Sun).
- Stick a pencil through an orange or ball and tilt it a little (that's Earth).
- Walk in a circle around the lamp, keeping the pencil pointed at the same wall the whole time.
- Watch how the top of the orange gets more light on one side of the circle and less on the other!
🤯 Bonus Fun Facts
- It's NOT about being closer to the Sun! Earth is actually a tiny bit closer to the Sun in January!
- When it's summer here, it's winter in Australia! The bottom half of Earth leans away when the top half leans toward the Sun. (Some kids there have Christmas at the beach! 🏖️🎄)
