TL;DR: Yes, you need to take action before 28 November 2026, or your electricity bill will go up significantly.

Here is what is happening:

• Your current plan is ending: Your "Fixed Saver 24" plan ends on 31 December 2026.
• The trap: If you do nothing, they will automatically move you to a "Standard Variable" tariff. This will jump your rate from 24.6p to 34.1p per kWh (nearly a 40% increase in your unit rate).
• What you need to do: Log into your online account or the Fennick Energy app before 28 November 2026 and select the "Fixed Saver 27" tariff to stay on a fixed price. (Note: Check what the rates are for Fixed Saver 27 when you log in, and maybe compare them with other energy providers just in case you can get a better deal elsewhere).

Subject: Return of Security Deposit - [Your Old Apartment Address/Unit Number] - Sam [Your Last Name]

Dear [Landlord's Name],

I hope you are doing well.

I am writing to follow up on the return of my $1,400 security deposit for [Your Old Apartment Address/Unit Number]. It has now been seven weeks since I vacated the property on [Move-out Date], and I have not yet received the refund or an itemized statement of deductions.

I have tried reaching out to you via text message a few times regarding this, so I wanted to send an email to ensure my message reaches you and that we have a formal record of communication.

For your convenience, here is my current forwarding address where the check can be mailed: [Your New Street Address] [City, State, Zip Code]

Alternatively, if it is easier to send the funds electronically via [Zelle/Venmo/Bank Transfer - delete if not applicable], please let me know and I can provide my details.

Could you please reply to this email by [Date - 3 to 5 days from now] to confirm when the deposit will be sent? Given the amount of time that has passed, I would really appreciate your prompt attention to this matter so we can get this resolved quickly.

Thank you,

Sam [Your Last Name] [Your Phone Number] [Your Email Address]

No, this is 100% a scam. Do not click the link, and do not enter any of your personal or financial information.

This is a very common type of phishing scam (often called "smishing" when done via SMS). Here are the red flags that prove it is fake:

1. The Fake Website Link: Look closely at the web address: dhl.com-redelivery.eu. Scammers put "dhl.com" at the beginning to trick you, but the actual domain name is com-redelivery.eu. Official DHL links will always end in dhl.com (or a country-specific equivalent like dhl.de or dhl.co.uk) before the first single slash.
2. False Sense of Urgency: Scammers try to make you panic by saying you only have "24 hours" before the package is returned. They want you to act fast without thinking. Real courier companies give you much more time to resolve customs issues.
3. The Small Fee Trap: They ask for a very small amount (1.99 EUR) so you think, "It's only two euros, I'll just pay it to be safe." However, the payment page is a trap designed to steal your credit card details, which they will then use to make massive unauthorized charges.
4. No Tracking Number: A legitimate message from DHL will almost always include the specific tracking number of the parcel in the text, along with your name.

What you should do now:

• Do not click the link. (If you already clicked it, just close the page. As long as you didn't type anything in, you are safe).
• Block the number and delete the text.
• If you are actually expecting a DHL package: Open a new browser window, go directly to the official dhl.com website, and type in your tracking number there to check its real status.
• If you already entered your card details: Call your bank immediately, tell them your card was compromised in a phishing scam, and ask them to cancel the card and issue a new one.

It sounds like there might be a slight mix-up with the title or the author, as there is no existing book titled Nineteen Quiet Rooms by an author named Ottilie Marsh.

If you want to double-check the book cover or your book club's reading list and reply with the exact title, author, or a brief summary of the plot you've read so far, I would be happy to help you figure out which book it is and give you the ending spoiler before your meeting tomorrow!

(For example, if it's a recent mystery/thriller, you might be thinking of something like The Maid by Nita Prose, Eighteen Tiny Deaths, or The Madness of Crowds by Louise Penny, or perhaps a book with a character named Ottilie?)

With those exact ingredients and no oven, you can make a really impressive, restaurant-style Cheesy Leek Scramble over Garlic-less Butter Toast, or a Panzanella-style Bread Frittata.

Since you only have 20 minutes, the Creamy Leek Scramble over Parmesan Fried Bread is your best bet. It feels fancy, is 100% vegetarian, and maximizes the texture of the stale bread.

You just need salt and pepper (and a splash of water or milk if you have it, though not strictly necessary).

Timeline: 15 Minutes

Prep (3 Minutes):

1. Bread: Cut the stale bread into thick slices (if it's a loaf) or bite-sized cubes (if it's too hard to slice).
2. Leek: Slice the leek in half lengthwise, then into thin half-moons. Crucial step: Put the chopped leeks in a bowl of water, swish them around to get the dirt out, and lift them out (leave the dirt at the bottom). Shake off excess water.
3. Cheese & Eggs: Grate the Parmesan (save a little for garnish). Crack the 4 eggs into a bowl, add a pinch of salt, lots of black pepper, and half the grated Parmesan. Whisk well.

Cook (12 Minutes):

1. Fry the Bread (4 mins): Melt a generous knob of butter in a skillet over medium heat. Add the bread. Toast it in the butter until it’s golden brown and crispy on the outside. (The butter will soften the stale insides). Remove the bread onto two plates. Sprinkle a little parmesan on the hot bread so it melts.
2. Soften the Leeks (5 mins): In the same pan, add another knob of butter. Toss in the damp leeks with a pinch of salt. (The water clinging to the leeks will help them steam and soften faster). Cook over medium-low heat until they are soft, sweet, and bright green—try not to brown them too much.
3. Scramble the Eggs (3 mins): Turn the heat to low. Pour the egg and cheese mixture directly into the pan with the leeks. Stir constantly with a spatula (or wooden spoon). Because the heat is low, the eggs and butter and cheese will emulsify into a rich, creamy custard.
4. Finish: Remove the pan from the heat when the eggs are just slightly wet (they will keep cooking for 30 seconds off the heat).

Serve: Spoon the creamy leek-and-cheese eggs directly over the crispy buttered bread (or scatter the bread cubes over the top like huge croutons). Top with the remaining Parmesan and extra black pepper.

It’s rich, comforting, and feels like a high-end brunch-for-dinner.

Here is a clean, genuine toast that takes about 45 seconds to read at a relaxed pace.

"For those who don't know me, I’m [Your Name], [Sister's Name]’s [brother/sister].

Anyone who knows my sister knows she doesn't do anything halfway—especially rock climbing. So it really wasn’t a surprise to any of us that she ended up finding the love of her life at the climbing gym.

Now, I could stand up here and make a bunch of cheesy metaphors about them 'reaching new heights' or Elliot being her 'rock,' but I promised myself I wouldn’t do that to you guys.

Instead, I’ll just say that in climbing, your partner is the person you trust with your life. You need someone who communicates, who pays attention, and who has your back when things get tough.

Elliot, from the moment you came into the picture, it was obvious you were that person for her. You calm her down, you build her up, and I’ve never seen my sister happier. Welcome to the family.

Everyone, please raise your glasses to [Sister's Name] and Elliot."

How much will the steak cost for two?

In Italy, Florentine steak is priced "all'etto", which means per 100 grams. Since the menu states a minimum weight of 1.2 kg (which equals 12 etti), here is what the minimum-sized steak will cost you:

1. The Steak: 12 (etti) × €5.50 = €66.00
2. Cover Charge (Coperto): €3.00 × 2 people = €6.00
3. 12% Service Charge (Servizio): The menu notes a 12% service fee at the bottom.
   • If applied to the whole bill (€72.00): €8.64
   • (Note: If it's only applied to the food and not the coperto, it will be €7.92).

Total Minimum Cost: €79.92 – €80.64 (or about €40 per person), before any drinks or side dishes.

(Tip: Because steaks are cut by hand, the actual weight might be slightly over 1.2 kg—for example, 1.3 kg or 1.4 kg. The waiter will usually bring the raw cut to your table on a scale or tell you the exact weight before cooking it so you can approve the final price!)

Here are two printable-ready chore charts designed with age-appropriate tasks. You can copy and paste these into a Word document or Google Doc, make the font a little bigger, and print them out!

💡 Fridge Tips for Parents:

• Laminate it: If you put these inside a clear plastic page protector, the kids can use a dry-erase marker to check off their boxes, and you can reuse the same sheet every week!
• The "Daily Freebies": Notice that "make your bed" isn't on every single day. If you want them to do that daily anyway, you can make "Make Bed & Brush Teeth" a morning routine expectation, and free up the chart for other helpful household chores.
• Pet Note: If you have pets, you can easily swap out any of the "Helping Out" or "Trash" chores for Feed the dog or Scoop the litter box.

Here is a drawing and an explanation you can share right with her!

To a 9-year-old, the biggest surprise is usually that seasons have nothing to do with how close the Earth is to the Sun. Instead, it’s all about the Earth's tilt.

You can tell her: "Long ago, something big crashed into the Earth and knocked it slightly sideways. Now, as it travels around the Sun, it's always leaning in the same direction—like a dizzy skater!"

Here is the "map" of how it works (assuming you live in the Northern Hemisphere, like the US, Europe, or China):

The Big Picture: Earth's Orbit

                 WINTER for the Top Half
                        (December)

                            /
🌎 <-- Leaning AWAY from the Sun
                          /

   SUMMER ☀️ WINTER

                          /
🌎 <-- Leaning TOWARD the Sun
                        /

                 SUMMER for the Top Half
                          (June)

(Note: The left and right earths are the main ones to look at!)

---

Zooming In: Why does the lean matter?

Ask her to imagine holding a flashlight. If you shine it straight down at the floor, it makes a bright, hot circle. If you tilt the flashlight, the light spreads out and gets dimmer. The Sun does the same thing to the Earth!

1. How we get SUMMER (June)

In June, the top half of the Earth is leaning toward the Sun.

                        / <-- North Pole
            ========= 000
☀️ ========= 00000 <-- Top half gets hit STRAIGHT ON
SUN ========= 00000 with strong, hot sunlight! (Summer)
            =========  000
/ <-- South Pole (Leaning away = Winter)

• Direct Sunlight: The sun's rays hit us straight on, making it very warm.
• Longer Days: Because we are leaning into the light, the sun stays in our sky much longer (which is why it’s still light out at bedtime!).

2. How we get WINTER (December)

Six months later, the Earth has traveled to the other side of the Sun. It is still leaning the exact same way, which means the top half is now leaning away from the Sun.

/ <-- North Pole (Leaning away = Winter)
                        000 =========
00000 ========= Top half only gets glancing,
  -->  -->  -->       00000 =========      weak sunlight. (Brrr!)
  (Sunlight from       000 =========
the left) / <-- South Pole (Leaning toward = Summer!)

• Spread-out Sunlight: The sun's rays hit us at a slanted angle. The heat is spread out and weak.
• Shorter Days: Because we are leaning away from the light, we spend less time in the sun, so it gets dark super early!

3 Fun Facts to Blow Her Mind:

1. Opposite Seasons: Look at the bottom half of the Earth in the Winter drawing. While we are leaning away (Winter), the bottom half is leaning toward the sun! That means in places like Australia, Christmas happens in the middle of a hot Summer!
2. Spring and Fall: These happen in the "in-between" spots on the circle (top and bottom of the first drawing), where the Earth is sideways to the Sun—neither leaning toward it nor away from it.
3. We are closer to the sun in Winter: It sounds crazy, but the Earth is actually slightly closer to the sun in January than in July. That proves it's all about the tilt, not the distance!

Quick Activity: Grab a ball (or an orange) and a flashlight. Put a sticker on the top half of the orange for your house. Tilt the orange a little bit, and walk it in a circle around the flashlight, keeping the tilt pointed at the same wall in your room. She will see the sticker go from the bright light (Summer) to the shadow (Winter)!
