got this from my electricity company. do i need to do anything? tldr pls Dear Customer, Thank you for being a valued Fennick Energy customer. We are writing to let you know about some changes to our products and services, as part of our ongoing commitment to transparency and to offering you the best possible value. From 1 January 2027 we are simplifying our range of tariffs. Fixed Saver 24, the tariff you are currently on, will be withdrawn on 31 December 2026. Customers on this tariff can choose a new tariff at any time through their online account or our app. If we do not hear from you by 28 November 2026, your account will move automatically to our Standard Variable tariff, currently 34.1p per kWh with a standing charge of 61.2p per day. Your current unit rate is 24.6p per kWh. To stay on a fixed price, please select Fixed Saver 27 in your online account before this date. We have also updated our Terms and Conditions, effective 1 January 2027. The main changes relate to how we handle meter readings, our complaints procedure and the way we contact you by email. There is nothing else you need to do. If you have any questions, our team is always happy to help. Kind regards, Customer Care Team Fennick Energy
Yes — do this one thing: Log into your online account or app and pick Fixed Saver 27 before 28 November 2026.
Why it matters: Your current tariff (24.6p/kWh) is being withdrawn. If you do nothing, you'll be moved to their Standard Variable tariff at 34.1p/kWh — nearly 10p more per unit, which could add hundreds per year depending on usage. The letter's line "there is nothing else you need to do" is misleading; you still need to actively choose a new fixed tariff to avoid the price jump.
Everything else: Terms & Conditions updates — nothing for you to do there.

write an email to my landlord. i moved out 7 weeks ago and still havent got my deposit back ($1,400). he isnt answering my texts. firm but not rude. im sam
Subject: Follow-Up: Return of Security Deposit ($1,400)
Dear [Landlord's Name],
I hope you're doing well. I'm writing regarding my security deposit of $1,400 for [property address], which I moved out of seven weeks ago, on [move-out date].
Despite several attempts to reach you by text, I haven't received a response or the return of my deposit. I wanted to follow up in writing to formally request its return, along with an itemized statement of any deductions, if applicable.
As you know, [State] law requires landlords to return security deposits within [X days, e.g., 30 days] of the end of the tenancy, so the deposit is now past due. I trust this is simply an oversight, and I'd appreciate your prompt attention to the matter.
Could you please let me know when I can expect the deposit, or send the payment to the address below?
[Your forwarding address]
I'd like to resolve this amicably, and I'm happy to discuss any questions you may have. However, if I don't hear back within [7–10] days, I'll need to explore other options available to me under state law, including filing a claim in small claims court.
Thank you for your time, and I look forward to hearing from you soon.
Best regards, Sam [Phone number] [New address]
A few quick tips before sending:
- Fill in your state's deadline — most states require the deposit back within 14–60 days of move-out
- Send it by email AND certified mail so you have proof of delivery
- Attach copies of any prior texts and your move-out photos/inspection if you have them
Want me to adjust the tone, or make it firmer?

got this text is it real?? "DHL: Your parcel is on hold due to an unpaid customs fee of 1.99 EUR. Pay within 24 hours or it will be returned to the sender: https://dhl.com-redelivery.eu/p/8KX2Q"
No, this is a scam. Delete it.
This is a classic smishing (SMS phishing) attempt. Here are the red flags:
🚩 Warning signs
The URL is fake — Look closely:
dhl.com-redelivery.euis not a DHL website. The real domain isdhl.com. Scammers use tricks like this where the real DHL name appears before a different domain (com-redelivery.eu).Tiny fee, big pressure — A suspiciously small amount (€1.99) makes you think "it's just 2 bucks" so you pay without questioning. They're after your card details, not the fee.
Artificial urgency — "Pay within 24 hours or it will be returned" is designed to make you act without thinking.
Legit DHL doesn't work this way — Real customs fees are either paid to customs directly, collected on delivery, or handled through DHL's official On Demand Delivery portal after logging in — never through a random link in an unsolicited text.
✅ What to do
- Don't click the link
- Don't reply to the message
- Delete it
- If you're genuinely expecting a package, check its status on the official DHL website (type dhl.com into your browser yourself) or the DHL app
- Report it to your country's anti-fraud service (e.g., in Germany: forward to the phishing reporting hotline; in the US: forward to 7726/SPAM)
⚠️ If you already clicked and entered payment details
Contact your bank immediately to block the card and report fraud, and watch for unauthorized charges.

whats the twist at the end of nineteen quiet rooms by ottilie marsh? book club is tomorrow and i didnt finish it
I have to be honest with you — I don't have any information about a book called Nineteen Quiet Rooms by Ottilie Marsh. It doesn't match anything in my knowledge, which suggests it might be very new, very obscure, or possibly a different title or author than you remember.
I'd rather tell you that than make up a twist and have you confidently say something wrong at book club tomorrow!
A few things that might help:
Double-check the details — Is the title or author possibly slightly different? Sometimes titles get misremembered, or a book might be published under a different name in different countries.
Quick spoiler sources — Goodreads reviews often contain spoilers (they're usually marked), and Wikipedia sometimes has plot summaries. Searching "[book title] ending explained" often surfaces Reddit threads or blog posts with detailed breakdowns.
The honest book club approach — You could just tell your group you didn't finish it. Most book clubs are forgiving, and the discussion about why you didn't finish can be genuinely interesting.
If you can tell me anything about the book — the plot so far, the characters, roughly when it was published — I might be able to recognize it under a different title. Or if you'd like, I can suggest good questions to ask your book club that let you participate without having read the whole thing!

i have 4 eggs, half a leek, stale bread, some parmesan and butter. no oven. dinner for 2 in 20 min? my gf is vegetarian
Buttery leek & egg skillet with crispy croutons — all your ingredients work, everything's vegetarian, and it's one pan. Here's the plan:
Steps (20 min)
1. Croutons first (8–10 min)
- Tear the stale bread into bite-sized chunks (stale is actually better for this)
- Melt a good knob of butter in a large pan over medium heat
- Fry the bread, tossing occasionally, until golden and crisp. Season with salt. Set aside on a plate.
2. Leeks (5–6 min)
- Slice the leek half into thin half-moons, rinse well (leeks hide grit)
- Same pan, more butter, medium-low heat. Cook the leek gently until soft and sweet, 5 min or so. Season.
3. Eggs (4–5 min)
- Push the leeks to the side (or spread them out), add a little more butter
- Crack the 4 eggs into the pan — two per person. Fry them sunny-side up or gently flip, whites set, yolks still runny
4. Finish
- Plate: leeks on the bottom, eggs on top, croutons scattered around
- Grate parmesan generously over everything + black pepper
Optional upgrades
- A splash of water in the pan with the eggs + lid = perfectly set whites with runny yolks
- If you have garlic, toss it in with the leeks
- Chili flakes or any herb on the eggs
Roughly 500–600 kcal per person and genuinely restaurant-worthy for a fridge-clearing meal. Want a variation, like turning it into a quick pan-strata or eggy bread style instead?

toast for my sisters wedding, under a minute. she climbs, they met at the climbing gym, hes called Elliot. no cringe
Here's one that's warm without being saccharine:
Hi everyone — I'm [Name], the sister, and I've been told I have one minute, so here goes.
Some people meet on dating apps. Some meet at parties. My sister met Elliot because he was apparently impressive enough on a climbing wall to catch her attention — which, knowing my sister, means he's either an incredible climber or very good at falling gracefully.
What I've noticed since they got together is this: they belay each other. Literally and otherwise. One of them is always steady while the other goes for it. That's kind of the whole thing, isn't it?
[Name], you've always been brave — on walls, in life. Elliot, thank you for being someone worth trusting with the rope.
So please raise your glasses: to [sister] and Elliot — may you always catch each other.
(~35 seconds at a natural pace.) Swap in actual names, and if there's a funny real detail — like who fell first, or a specific climb — drop it into that second line. Specifics kill cringe better than sentiment does.

can you translate this? we're 2 and want to share the steak, what will that cost us
This is the menu from Trattoria del Cufo in Genzano di Roma. Here's a rough translation (the scan is a bit blurry, so a few items are approximate):
ANTIPASTI (Appetizers)
- Gnocchi with chicken livers — €5.00
- Rigatoni with porcini mushrooms — €10.00
- Salami & cheese board — €15.00
PRIMI (First courses / pasta)
- Pappardelle (with boar/mushrooms, hard to read) — €12.00
- ... — €12.00
- ... — €12.00
SECONDI (Main courses)
- Bistecca di manzo (all'etto) — €5.00 per etto ← this is your steak!
- Grilled veal(?) — €14.00
- ... — €14.00
- Fegatelli (pork liver) — €12.00
CONTORNI (Sides)
- Roasted peppers — €4.00
- Green beans with garlic — €4.00
- Fried potatoes — €3.50
DOLCI (Desserts)
- Cannolo with Vin Santo — €4.00
- Tiramisù — €3.50
About the steak: "all'etto" means it's priced per 100 grams (etto), at €5 each. The price isn't fixed — you pay by weight:
- ~800 g (a typical steak for 2) → €40
- 1 kg (generous portion for 2) → €50
Add a couple of sides (~€4 each) and the cover charge (coperto, likely ~€1.50–2 per person), and you're probably looking at roughly €50–60 total for two, sharing the steak.
💡 Tip: In Italy it's normal to ask the waiter to weigh the steak and show you the price before cooking it, so there are no surprises.

make a chore chart for my kids, Ava (7) and Leo (10). 2 chores each a day, mon to fri. something i can print and put on the fridge
Here's a print-ready chore chart designed to look like a real sheet pinned to the fridge — I went for a warm "paper worksheet" feel with a hand-drawn character, since that reads better on a fridge door than a sterile digital table.

- The chart itself — one row per day (Mon–Fri), with each kid getting two columns in their own color (coral for Ava, teal-green for Leo). Every cell holds an age-appropriate chore and an empty circle to tick with a pen. I varied the chores across the week so nobody gets stuck with the same task every day, and kept them realistic for 7 and 10 years old.
- Built to print — the page is sized to fit a single landscape Letter sheet (and works on A4 landscape too). Hitting Print strips away the fridge backdrop and magnets and outputs just the clean worksheet, with exact colors preserved. Print a fresh one each Sunday, stick it up with real magnets.
- A star system for motivation — at the bottom, each kid has 5 outlined stars: color one in when both chores for that day are done. There's also a fill-in-the-blank reward line ("All 10 stars = ___") so you can set a weekly treat together.
- Little screen conveniences — before printing, you can click any chore name to edit it, fill in the "week of" date, and preview ticks/stars on screen. On screen the sheet sits on a brushed-steel fridge door held by three round magnets, so you can see exactly how it'll look at home.
Just open the file in a browser, click Print, and it's fridge-ready.
