got this from my electricity company. do i need to do anything? tldr pls Dear Customer, Thank you for being a valued Fennick Energy customer. We are writing to let you know about some changes to our products and services, as part of our ongoing commitment to transparency and to offering you the best possible value. From 1 January 2027 we are simplifying our range of tariffs. Fixed Saver 24, the tariff you are currently on, will be withdrawn on 31 December 2026. Customers on this tariff can choose a new tariff at any time through their online account or our app. If we do not hear from you by 28 November 2026, your account will move automatically to our Standard Variable tariff, currently 34.1p per kWh with a standing charge of 61.2p per day. Your current unit rate is 24.6p per kWh. To stay on a fixed price, please select Fixed Saver 27 in your online account before this date. We have also updated our Terms and Conditions, effective 1 January 2027. The main changes relate to how we handle meter readings, our complaints procedure and the way we contact you by email. There is nothing else you need to do. If you have any questions, our team is always happy to help. Kind regards, Customer Care Team Fennick Energy
TLDR: Yes — you probably need to do something if you want to avoid paying more.
- You’re on Fixed Saver 24. It ends on 31 Dec 2026.
- If you do nothing by 28 Nov 2026, you’ll be moved automatically to the Standard Variable tariff.
- That would be more expensive: 34.1p per kWh vs your current 24.6p per kWh.
- To stay on a fixed price, choose Fixed Saver 27 in your online account/app before 28 Nov 2026.
- The Terms & Conditions changes from Jan 2027 are mostly admin stuff — no action needed.
So: switch to Fixed Saver 27 before 28 Nov 2026 unless you’re happy with paying more.

write an email to my landlord. i moved out 7 weeks ago and still havent got my deposit back ($1,400). he isnt answering my texts. firm but not rude. im sam
Subject: Security Deposit Return – [Your Address]
Dear [Landlord's Name],
I hope this email finds you well.
I moved out of [rental address] on [move-out date] — seven weeks ago. As of today, I have not received my security deposit of $1,400, nor any itemized statement of deductions. I have also tried reaching you by text several times, with no response.
Under most state landlord-tenant laws, a security deposit must be returned (or an itemized deduction list provided) within a specific timeframe after move-out. That period has now passed. I would like to resolve this promptly.
Please either return the full deposit or provide a detailed, itemized list of any deductions by [specific date, e.g., 10 days from now]. If I do not hear from you by then, I will need to pursue the legal options available to me.
I appreciate your prompt attention to this matter. Let me know if you need any additional information from my side.
Best regards, Sam [Your phone number] [Your email address]

got this text is it real?? "DHL: Your parcel is on hold due to an unpaid customs fee of 1.99 EUR. Pay within 24 hours or it will be returned to the sender: https://dhl.com-redelivery.eu/p/8KX2Q"
That looks like a phishing scam, not a real DHL message.
Here’s why:
- Suspicious link: The domain is
dhl.com-redelivery.eu— that is not an official DHL website. Real DHL uses domains likedhl.com,dhl.de,dhlparcel.nl, etc. - Generic greeting: It doesn’t address you by name, which is a common sign of spam.
- Urgency tactic: “Pay within 24 hours or it will be returned” is designed to pressure you into acting quickly.
- Odd fee amount: Customs fees are usually more specific and tied to your actual shipment; €1.99 is a common “hook” amount used in scams.
What you should do:
- Do not click the link.
- Do not enter any payment or personal information.
- Delete the message.
- If you’re actually expecting a DHL parcel, check the tracking directly on the official DHL website or app using your tracking number.
Stay safe — this is almost certainly a fraudulent attempt to steal your card details.

whats the twist at the end of nineteen quiet rooms by ottilie marsh? book club is tomorrow and i didnt finish it
I’m sorry — I don’t have a reliable memory of the specific ending of Nineteen Quiet Rooms by Ottilie Marsh, and I don’t want to risk making up a spoiler for your book club.
If you can tell me roughly where you stopped, I can help you piece things together or talk through the ending once you find it. Otherwise, a quick spoiler-friendly Goodreads/story graph review might be the fastest help before tomorrow.

i have 4 eggs, half a leek, stale bread, some parmesan and butter. no oven. dinner for 2 in 20 min? my gf is vegetarian
Yes — you can make a great vegetarian dinner in about 18 minutes with no oven. I’d do a skillet leek & Parmesan egg-toast hash — it’s a little like a savoury bread pudding meets scrambled eggs, pan-fried in one skillet.
You’ll need
- 4 eggs
- ½ leek, trimmed, cleaned, thinly sliced
- About 3–4 cups stale bread, torn/cubed (2–3 thick slices)
- 1½ tbsp butter
- ~40g Parmesan, finely grated, plus more for serving
- Salt and black pepper
Method
Cook the leek.
Melt about 1 tbsp butter in a large nonstick skillet over medium heat. Add the leek and a pinch of salt. Cook, stirring, for about 5 minutes until soft and lightly golden.Add the bread.
Scatter the bread cubes over the leeks. Add the remaining butter if the pan looks dry. Toast for 3–4 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the bread is crisp at the edges.Beat the eggs.
Meanwhile, whisk the eggs in a bowl with half the Parmesan, salt, and pepper. If your bread is very stale/hard, cut it into smaller pieces so it softens more quickly.Pour in the eggs.
Reduce the heat to medium-low. Pour the egg mixture over the bread and leeks. Cook, stirring gently like you’re making a big scrambled egg, for 2–4 minutes — until the eggs are just set and cling to the bread. Take it off the heat while it still looks glossy.Finish with Parmesan.
Stir through the remaining Parmesan. Divide between two plates, top with extra grated Parmesan and black pepper, and eat immediately.
One note: traditional Parmesan can contain animal rennet. If that matters for your gf, check the label or swap in a vegetarian hard cheese.

toast for my sisters wedding, under a minute. she climbs, they met at the climbing gym, hes called Elliot. no cringe
Hi everyone. For those who don’t know, my sister and Elliot met at a climbing gym. And honestly, I can’t think of a more fitting place.
Climbing is about strength, trust, and knowing when to hold on—and when to let someone else take the lead. Elliot, she clearly found someone who can keep up with her on the wall, and more importantly, someone who always has her back. Watching you two together, it’s clear you make every hard route look easy.
Elliot, welcome to the family. And to my sister—I’m so glad you found the partner you deserve. Please raise your glasses with me, to a lifetime of adventures, and never a summit too high. To my sister and Elliot!

my 9 year old asked why we have summer and winter. can you draw it so she gets it?
Great question! I can’t send a real picture, but here’s a little drawing you can show her.
Imagine Earth is like a spinning top that leans over — and it always leans the same way as it goes around the Sun.
SUMMER (June in the north): --> <-- arrow shows which way Earth leans [Earth] [Sun] The top of Earth leans toward the Sun. WINTER (December in the north): --> [Sun] [Earth] The top of Earth leans the same way, but now it leans away from the Sun.The arrow is the direction the North Pole points. In summer, the Sun is on that side, so the Sun’s light hits us more directly and days are longer — warm! In winter, the Sun is on the other side, so the light hits us at an angle and days are shorter — cold!
It’s the opposite in the southern half of Earth, so when it’s summer in the north, it’s winter in places like Australia.
Try this too: shine a flashlight on a ball. Tip the top of the ball toward the flashlight, then away. You can see the light get stronger and weaker — that’s exactly the idea!
