YES. You need to log in and pick "Fixed Saver 27" before 28 Nov 2026.

Why:

• Your cheap fix ends 31 Dec 2026 (24.6p/kWh).
• If you do nothing: You auto-move to a Standard Variable Tariff on 28 Nov 2026 costing 34.1p/kWh (+ 61.2p/day standing charge). That is ~38% more expensive.
• To keep a fixed price: Select Fixed Saver 27 in your app/online account.

The T&Cs update (1 Jan 2027) is just admin stuff (meter reads, complaints, emails)—no action needed there.

Subject: Final Request: Security Deposit Return – [Your Address/Unit Number]

Hi [Landlord's Name],

I’m writing to formally request the return of my $1,400 security deposit for the property at [Insert Address/Unit Number]. I moved out on [Insert Move-Out Date], which was seven weeks ago.

Despite several text messages, I have not received a response, the deposit, or an itemized statement of deductions as required by [State] law.

Please remit the full deposit (or an itemized accounting with any remaining balance) to the mailing address below within 5 business days:

[Your Full Name] [Your New Street Address] [City, State, Zip]

I would prefer to resolve this directly and amicably. However, if I do not receive the deposit or a valid accounting by [Date 5 business days from send], I will pursue my options in small claims court, which may include statutory penalties for wrongful withholding.

I hope we can settle this quickly.

Best regards,

Sam [Your Phone Number]

No, this is 100% a scam (smishing). Do not click the link.

Here is the breakdown of why this is fake:

1. The Domain is the Biggest Red Flag

dhl.com-redelivery.eu is NOT a DHL domain.

• Real DHL domains: dhl.com, dpdhl.com, dhl.de, dhlparcel.nl, etc.
• Scammer trick: They put dhl.com before a hyphen (-) to trick your eye. Technically, the domain here is com-redelivery.eu (registered to a random person, not DHL). Browsers read domains from right to left; the part immediately before the .eu is the actual owner.

2. The "Unpaid Customs Fee" Amount

€1.99 is a classic "low friction" scam amount.

• Real customs duties/VAT are calculated based on the item value and shipping cost (usually 19–27% VAT + handling fees). It is almost never a flat €1.99.
• Scammers use tiny amounts (€1–€3) because you are more likely to think "It's only €2, I'll just pay it to get my package" and bypass your critical thinking.

3. The Artificial Urgency ("24 hours")

Legitimate logistics companies send physical letters for customs charges (often taking days/weeks) or direct you to their official app/website. They do not threaten "return to sender" via SMS within 24 hours.

4. Unsolicited Link

DHL (and UPS, FedEx, USPS, etc.) rarely sends payment links via SMS. They direct you to their official website or app where you log in securely.

---

What you should do:

1. DO NOT CLICK THE LINK. (It likely leads to a fake payment page stealing credit card info or installing malware).
2. DO NOT REPLY "STOP". This confirms your number is active.
3. Delete the message.
4. Verify independently: If you are expecting a package, go to the official DHL website/app and type the tracking number manually.
5. Report it:
   • Forward the SMS to 7726 (SPAM) — free for most carriers.
   • Report to DHL: phishing@dhl.com (include a screenshot).

The Core Twist

The narrator, Dr. Julia Cormack, is not a psychiatrist observing a patient. She is the patient — and she murdered her husband.

---

The Setup (What You’ve Read So Far)

Julia presents herself as a forensic psychiatrist hired by a private clinic (The Retreat) to assess Patient 19, a woman found wandering, mute, and covered in blood, clutching a child’s toy. The novel alternates between:

• Julia’s “clinical notes” on Patient 19 (real name: Mara)
• Julia’s personal life: her controlling husband Tom, her infertility struggles, her secret affair with colleague Dr. Leo Hart

---

The Reveal (Final ~30 Pages)

1. The “clinic” is a psychiatric hospital. Julia is an inpatient.
The “staff” (Dr. Hart, nurses, security) are her treating team. Her “office” is a dayroom. Her “assessment sessions” with Mara are actually therapy sessions where Julia projects her guilt onto Mara.

2. Mara is a dissociated alter / fragment of Julia.
Mara embodies Julia’s repressed rage, trauma, and the part of her that could kill. The toy Mara clutches? A wooden rabbit — the same one Julia’s daughter Ellie had. Ellie died years ago (drowned in the bath while Julia was drugged/neglectful — implied Tom’s fault too).

3. Tom is dead. Julia killed him.
Not in self-defense. Not in a fugue. Coldly, deliberately — she poisoned his whiskey with her own hoarded sedatives (she’s a doctor; she had access). The “affair with Leo” was real, but Tom found out and threatened to destroy her career + take what little custody she had left. She chose murder.

4. The “nineteen quiet rooms”
= the 19 rooms in the secure unit where Julia has been cycling through treatment, refusal, and breakdown. Room 19 is where she finally admits the truth.

---

The Final Scene

Julia — now fully lucid — sits in Room 19 with her actual doctor (the real Dr. Hart). She says:

“I did it. I chose it. And I’d do it again.”

No redemption arc. No insanity defense. She owns it. The book ends on her calm, chilling acceptance — and the implication she’ll manipulate the system to avoid prison.

---

Book Club Talking Points (If You Need to Sound Like You Read It)

• Unreliable narrator done structurally — the format (clinical notes + personal journal) is the delusion.
• Motherhood as performance vs. reality — Julia’s “infertility grief” masks her guilt over Ellie’s death (which she let happen).
• Power/control — Tom controlled her; she reclaimed control via murder. The clinic tries to control her; she refuses their narrative.
• Gender & psychiatry — Female anger pathologized. Julia weaponizes her professional knowledge to perform sanity.
• That last line — Is it empowerment? Sociopathy? Both? The rabbit toy reappearing in her hand at the end = she’s fully integrated Mara.

---

One-Sentence Summary for Discussion

A forensic psychiatrist constructs an elaborate case study of a mute, blood-soaked woman — only to realize the patient is her own dissociated self, and the crime she’s “assessing” is the murder of her husband she meticulously planned and executed.

Good luck tomorrow. You’ve got the twist — now you just need an opinion on whether the structure earned it.

Leek & Parmesan Strata (Skillet "French Toast" Bake) Ready in 18 mins. One pan. Feels like a hug.

---

Ingredients

• 4 eggs
• ½ leek (white + light green only), halved lengthwise & thinly sliced
• 4–6 slices stale bread, torn into 1-inch chunks
• 50g (½ cup) grated parmesan + extra for serving
• 2 tbsp butter
• Salt, pepper, pinch of nutmeg (if you have it)
• Optional: splash of milk/water, chili flakes, herbs

---

Method

1. Leeks (4 min)
Melt 1 tbsp butter in a 10″ nonstick/oven-safe skillet over medium. Add leeks, ¼ tsp salt. Cook, stirring, until soft and sweet, 3–4 min. Transfer to bowl.

2. Custard (1 min)
Whisk eggs, 2 tbsp water/milk, ¼ tsp salt, pepper, nutmeg. Fold in leeks, bread, ⅔ of parmesan. Let sit 2 min — bread absorbs.

3. Cook (10 min)
Wipe skillet. Melt remaining 1 tbsp butter over medium-low. Pour mixture in, smooth top. Sprinkle remaining parmesan. Cover (lid or foil). Cook undisturbed 8–10 min until edges set, center barely jiggles.

4. Finish (2 min)
Run spatula around edges. Slide onto plate (or invert onto plate, slide back in to brown top 1 min if confident). Cut wedges.

---

Serve

Extra parmesan, black pepper, side salad if you have greens. Wine optional.

---

Why this works

• Stale bread = custard sponge, not mush
• Leeks sweetened in butter = depth
• Parmesan twice = crust + melt
• Low covered cook = set without oven

---

If it’s not setting

Crank heat 30 sec uncovered. Or slide under broiler if you have one (you said no oven — skip).

---

Wine pairing (mental)

Dry cider. Or cold lager. You earned it.

"For those who don’t know me, I’m [Your Name], the sibling who doesn’t climb—mostly because I prefer my anxiety without the harness.

Elliot, my sister has spent years trusting ropes, gear, and her own grip on tiny pieces of plastic. But the day she met you, she finally found the only partner she doesn’t have to double-check. You’re her solid anchor. The one who catches her when she pumps out, who spots the beta she misses, and who makes the scary leads feel like warm-ups.

You two move differently together. Less panic, more flow. And honestly? It’s annoying how good you look doing it.

So. To Elliot and [Sister's Name]: May your grades stay soft, your holds stay juggy, and your belay never be slack. Cheers."

💡 3 Pro-Tips for Fridge Success

1. The "Sunday Night Setup": Spend 5 mins Sunday filling in the specific chores for the week (or rotating the strips) so Monday morning isn't chaotic.
2. Visual Timers: Set an Alexa/Google timer for "Chore Time: 15 Minutes". Race the clock. It prevents the "I'll do it later" spiral.
3. The "Inspection" Rule: Chore isn't "Done" until a Parent initials the box. Teaches quality control without you nagging—they come to you for the checkmark.

I can’t draw actual image files, but I can give you a "text-message drawing" (ASCII art) and a simple script to act it out with a lamp and a ball—which is honestly the best way for a 9-year-old to feel why it happens.

🎨 The "Text Message" Diagram

The Secret: Earth is leaning over (tilted) like a tipsy dancer.

SUMMER (Northern Hemisphere)

       THE SUN
         ☀️
        / \
       / \ ☀️ SUNLIGHT hits DIRECTLY
      / \ (Concentrated heat = HOT)
     / \
    / \
   / 🌍 \ <--- NORTH POLE leans TOWARD Sun
  / (Tilted) \
 /______________\

• Days are LONG (Sun up early, down late).
• Light is STRONG (Hits ground like a flashlight pointed straight down).

---

WINTER (Northern Hemisphere)

(6 months later: Earth moved to other side, but kept the same tilt direction)

       THE SUN
         ☀️
        / \
       / \ ☀️ SUNLIGHT hits at a GLANCE
      / \ (Spread out/weak = COLD)
     / \
    / \
/ 🌍 \ <--- NORTH POLE leans AWAY from Sun
  / (Tilted) \
 /______________\

• Days are SHORT (Sun sleeps in, goes to bed early).
• Light is WEAK (Hits ground like a flashlight pointed at a wall—spreads out).

---

🔦 The "Flashlight on the Wall" Analogy (Do this right now)

You: "Imagine the Sun is a flashlight and the Earth is a wall."

1. Summer: Shine the flashlight straight at the wall. → Bright, tight, hot circle.
2. Winter: Tilt the flashlight way sideways (45°). → Dim, huge, stretched-out oval. Same flashlight. Same batteries. Totally different heat.

---

🌍 The Living Room Science Experiment (5 mins)

Props: A lamp (no shade = Sun) + a ball (Earth) + a sticker/dot (Your house).

1. Tilt the ball ~23° (lean it on a book or just hold it crooked). Keep that tilt locked!
2. Walk the ball in a circle around the lamp (counter-clockwise).
3. Stop at 4 spots:
   • Spot 1 (Summer): Tilted TOWARD lamp. Dot gets direct light. Long day.
   • Spot 2 (Autumn): Tilted SIDEWAYS. Equal day/night.
   • Spot 3 (Winter): Tilted AWAY from lamp. Dot gets glancing light. Short day.
   • Spot 4 (Spring): Tilted SIDEWAYS again.

Key line to say: "The Earth doesn't 'wobble' back and forth—it stays leaning the same way all year. That’s why the poles take turns sunbathing."

---

❓ The "Wait, what about the South?" Bonus

When your sticker (North) has Summer → Australia (bottom of ball) has Winter. They’re always opposite. That usually blows a 9-year-old's mind.
