Laminate it (or use a cheap sheet protector) and let them check boxes with a dry-erase marker. Wipe clean Sunday night and reuse.

Earth spins like a basketball that is leaning over about 23°. And here’s the trick: it never straightens up. Its North Pole always points the same direction in space (toward the North Star).

As Earth travels in a big circle around the Sun over 12 months, that lean means:

Sometimes the North Pole leans toward the Sun → Summer

Sometimes it leans away → Winter

Why is winter colder? It’s not mainly about distance. It’s the angle of the light.
