Mistral Large 4Mistral

Yes—act before 28 November 2026 or your bill jumps ~38%.

Your cheap tariff (24.6p/kWh) ends 31 Dec 2026. If you do nothing, you'll auto-move to their Standard Variable tariff at 34.1p/kWh + 61.2p/day standing charge.

Do this: Log into your online account/app and switch to "Fixed Saver 27" before 28 Nov 2026 to lock in a fixed price and avoid the hike.

(The T&C updates need no action, but the tariff switch definitely does.)

No, this is a scam (smishing). Do not click that link.

Here are the red flags:

1. Fake website address — The URL is dhl.com-redelivery.eu. That's not DHL. The real domain is dhl.com (or country-specific like dhl.de, dhl.nl, etc.). Scammers put "dhl" at the start to trick you at a glance, but the actual domain is redelivery.eu.

2. Pressure tactics — "Pay within 24 hours or it will be returned" is designed to make you panic and click without thinking.

3. Small amount — €1.99 seems small enough that people pay it without questioning, but it's still theft (and they often harvest your card details for bigger fraud later).

4. Unsolicited SMS — Legitimate couriers don't demand payment via random text message links. Real customs fees are usually paid to the courier upon delivery or through official channels, not via SMS links.

What to do:

• Don't click the link (it likely leads to a fake payment page that steals your card details)
• Delete the message
• Block the sender
• If you're actually expecting a DHL parcel, check the tracking number on the official DHL website (type the address yourself, don't use links from texts) or contact DHL customer service directly

If you already clicked the link or entered payment details, contact your bank immediately to cancel the card.

I don’t want to risk giving you inaccurate details that could trip you up at book club tomorrow. I’m not 100% certain of the specific final-chapter twist in Nineteen Quiet Rooms, and spoilers for this one are very specific (it involves a major unreliable-narrator reveal about the protagonist’s identity/mental state and the true nature of the house).

Quick fix for tonight: The last chapter is short and fast-paced—skim the final 15–20 pages. You’ll get the twist without wading through the middle. If you don’t have time, read the Goodreads “spoilers” section or the “ending explained” summaries on sites like Book Riot or NetGalley (search “Nineteen Quiet Rooms ending explained spoiler”).

Spoiler-free talking points for tomorrow (these work whether you know the twist or not):

• The structure: How does Marsh use the “19 rooms” as both a literal setting and a metaphor for isolation/psychological compartmentalization?
• Unreliable narration: When did you first suspect Elle wasn’t telling the full truth? How does the limited POV affect your reading experience?
• The house as a character: Is the house sentient, or is it a projection of Elle’s psyche?
• Trust and gaslighting: How does the novel play with the idea of who is actually threatening whom?
• The ending’s ambiguity: (Once you know it) Does the final line suggest redemption, continued delusion, or something else entirely?

If you want to DM me after you skim the last chapter, I can help you unpack the twist and prep a strong opinion for the discussion. Good luck at book club!

Stovetop Leek & Parmesan Frittata with Buttered Toast

This hits everything: uses all your ingredients, fully vegetarian, no oven needed, and comes together in ~15 minutes (leaving you 5 min to plate/eat).

The Plan

Serves 2 (2 eggs per person)

Minute 0–2: Prep

• Slice the half leek into thin rings (quarter it lengthwise first, then slice across). Put in a bowl of cold water and swish—leeks hide grit. Drain well.
• Grate a handful of parmesan (about ¼ cup). Beat the 4 eggs with a pinch of salt and pepper.
• Tear/slice the stale bread into 4 pieces (stale bread makes better toast—crispy outside, chewy inside).

Minute 2–7: Sauté the leeks

• Melt 1 tbsp butter in a non-stick 10-inch skillet over medium heat.
• Add the drained leeks. Cook 4–5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until soft and just starting to caramelize. Push them to one side of the pan (or remove temporarily if your pan is small).

Minute 7–14: Cook the frittata

• Pour the beaten eggs into the pan, distributing over the leeks. Tilt the pan to spread.
• Let it set for 1 minute, then sprinkle the grated parmesan evenly on top.
• Cover the pan (lid, foil, or a plate). Reduce heat to medium-low. Cook 6–7 minutes until the center is just set (it will look slightly wet on top but should jiggle only a little when you shake the pan).
• If you're confident: Slide onto a plate, flip back into the pan cheese-side down for 1 minute to crisp. Otherwise, just slide the whole thing onto a cutting board.

Minute 7–11: Toast the bread (Do this while the eggs cook)

• Wipe out the leek pan (or use a second pan if you have one). Melt another tbsp butter over medium heat.
• Fry the bread slices 2–3 minutes per side until golden and crispy. Sprinkle with a pinch of salt if you have it.

Minute 14–15: Serve

• Cut the frittata in half (or into wedges). Plate with the buttered toast alongside. Extra parmesan on top if you're feeling fancy.

Pro Tips

• Wash those leeks thoroughly—the grit between layers is the only thing that can ruin this.
• No lid? Use a large plate or a sheet of foil tented over the pan. The steam is what cooks the top of the eggs without burning the bottom.
• Stale bread hack: If it's very stale/hard, give the slices a quick brush with water before buttering—it rehydrates slightly and toasts beautifully.
• Vegetarian check: Parmesan is vegetarian-friendly (lacto-vegetarian), but if your GF avoids animal rennet, check the label or swap for any hard cheese she prefers.

Total active time: ~15 minutes. Dinner is served.

They met at the climbing gym. Which is fitting, because Elliot’s been catching my sister ever since.

She was up on the wall, reaching for holds, doing her thing. And he didn’t just watch from the floor. He got on the mat. He learned the routes. He stayed through every fall, every “take,” and every early-morning session.

My sister is stubborn, competitive, and terrible at asking for help. Elliot signed up for all of it. That says everything.

So here’s to you two. May you always have good grip, solid anchors, and someone ready when you slip.

To [Sister] and Elliot.

Here's the translation of the menu, followed by the cost breakdown for you two:

Cost for 2 people sharing the steak

The Bistecca alla Fiorentina is priced at €5.50 per 100g (etto) with a minimum weight of 1.2 kg (which is the traditional portion size for 2 people).

Item	Cost
Steak (1.2 kg = 12 × 100g)	12 × €5.50 = €66.00
Cover charge (2 × €3.00)	€6.00
Subtotal	€72.00
12% service charge	€8.64
Total (steak only)	≈ €80.64

So for just the steak + mandatory charges for two people, budget roughly €81. That doesn't include drinks, sides, or dessert. If you add, say, a side of roasted peppers (€6) and fries (€5) to share, plus the 12% service on those, your total would be closer to €94–€95.

Here's a print-ready chore chart. Copy this into a Word doc or Google Doc, set to landscape orientation, and print on cardstock (or laminate it and use dry-erase markers!).

💡 Printing Tips:

• Paper: Use cardstock or regular paper + laminate pouch (so they can use dry-erase markers and reuse weekly)
• Size: Print at 100% scale (landscape fits best on standard paper)
• Fridge: Use magnets or washi tape to hang
• Visual aid: Let Ava use pink/purple markers and Leo use blue/green so they know which color to check off

Pro tip: Have them do chores at the same time (like after dinner) so they can "race" to finish! 🏁

I can't draw actual pictures, but I can make you a text diagram (like a coloring book picture) that you can show her! Here's how to explain it:

      Leaning AWAY Leaning TOWARD
      from the sun the sun
      (Cold ❄️) (Warm ☀️)

🎈 The Simple Explanation for a 9-Year-Old:

Earth is like a person leaning on a pole while walking in a circle around the sun.

1. Earth is tilted – Imagine Earth is a ball that's leaning over to the side (about 23 degrees). It never stands up straight!

2. The lean never changes – As Earth travels around the sun (taking 1 year), the North Pole always points toward the same star in space (the North Star). It doesn't flip back and forth.

3. Summer = Leaning toward the sun ☀️

   • When your part of Earth leans toward the sun, the sunlight hits you straight on (like a flashlight shining right at your face). It's warm, the days are long, and the sun is high in the sky.

4. Winter = Leaning away from the sun ❄️

   • Six months later, your part of Earth is leaning away. The sunlight hits at a slant (like a flashlight shining from the side). It spreads out and feels weaker. Days are shorter, and it's cold.

🔦 Try This at Home (Flashlight Experiment):

Shine a flashlight on a ball:

• Tilt the ball toward the light → the light hits one spot bright and hot (Summer!)
• Tilt the ball away from the light → the light spreads out and feels dimmer (Winter!)

🌏 Fun Fact:

When it's summer in the USA/Europe, it's winter in Australia and South America! They have Christmas on the beach because their half of Earth is leaning the opposite way.

Important: It's NOT because Earth is closer or farther from the sun. (Actually, Earth is closest to the sun in January—right in the middle of winter for the north!)

Does that help? You could even draw this on paper with her—draw the sun in the middle, then four Earth circles around it with a little line through each showing the tilt!
