got this from my electricity company. do i need to do anything? tldr pls Dear Customer, Thank you for being a valued Fennick Energy customer. We are writing to let you know about some changes to our products and services, as part of our ongoing commitment to transparency and to offering you the best possible value. From 1 January 2027 we are simplifying our range of tariffs. Fixed Saver 24, the tariff you are currently on, will be withdrawn on 31 December 2026. Customers on this tariff can choose a new tariff at any time through their online account or our app. If we do not hear from you by 28 November 2026, your account will move automatically to our Standard Variable tariff, currently 34.1p per kWh with a standing charge of 61.2p per day. Your current unit rate is 24.6p per kWh. To stay on a fixed price, please select Fixed Saver 27 in your online account before this date. We have also updated our Terms and Conditions, effective 1 January 2027. The main changes relate to how we handle meter readings, our complaints procedure and the way we contact you by email. There is nothing else you need to do. If you have any questions, our team is always happy to help. Kind regards, Customer Care Team Fennick Energy

Yes, you need to act — and the email buries it.

TL;DR: If you do nothing, your electricity rate jumps from 24.6p to 34.1p per kWh (~39% increase) from 1 January 2027. The "there is nothing else you need to do" line at the end is misleading.

What to do:

  • Log into your Fennick account/app before 28 November 2026
  • Pick a new tariff — they're nudging you toward "Fixed Saver 27"
  • Don't just accept that one blindly: check its rate against the current 24.6p, and compare with other suppliers too, since you're free to switch anyway

Ignore:

  • The T&Cs update — minor stuff (meter readings, complaints, email contact), nothing to act on

Also note the "Standard Variable" rate can go up further after you're on it, so letting it default is the worst outcome.

The catch: The letter ends with “There is nothing else you need to do”, but doing nothing moves you to a tariff at 34.1p per kWh instead of 24.6p.
